Facial balancing & dermal filler in Sarasota, placed by a physician
As we age, the face gradually loses volume. Cheeks flatten, lips thin, and folds form around the nose and mouth. Dermal fillers restore that lost volume in a single visit, with results you can see before you leave.
At SculptMaxx MD, Dr. Alice Boican uses FDA-approved hyaluronic acid fillers and Radiesse®, a collagen-stimulating filler, to refresh your features while keeping them in balance.

What are dermal fillers?
The fillers we use are made of hyaluronic acid (HA), a sugar molecule your skin already makes to hold moisture and stay plump. Injected gels add volume and structure right where they are needed, then slowly break down naturally over months.
HA fillers can also be dissolved with an enzyme if needed. That adds an important layer of safety and control.
We use trusted brands such as Restylane® and RHA®. Different gels are designed for different procedures, from soft and flexible for lips to firm and lifting for cheeks and chin.
Radiesse®: structure plus collagen
Radiesse® (calcium hydroxylapatite) works differently from HA fillers. It prompts your skin to rebuild collagen over the following months for firmer-looking support. Dr. Boican uses hyperdiluted Radiesse® to achieve these benefits. It pairs well with HA fillers: HA filler gives soft, precise shape to areas like the lips, cheek and jaw, while Radiesse® stimulates collagen production and can be used to improve the appearance of the face, neck and hands as well as adding structure to areas like the jawline and cheeks.
What fillers can treat
Lips: add volume, shape and definition, or simply hydrate
Cheeks: restore lift and contour that has faded with time
Smile lines and marionette lines: soften folds around the nose and mouth
Chin and jawline: improve profile and balance the lower face
Under-eye hollows: reduce a tired, shadowed look
Temples: refill hollowing that can make the face look older
Not every area is FDA-approved for every filler. Dr. Boican will tell you whether the use she recommends is on-label for the product chosen.
Why patients choose fillers
Immediate results that settle fully over about 2 weeks
Long-lasting: typically 6 to 18 months or more, depending on product and area
Minimal downtime: mild swelling or bruising for a few days is common
Adjustable: your result can be refined at follow-up, and HA filler touch-ups can be added.
Works well with Botox: Botox relaxes lines caused by movement; filler replaces volume that time has taken
What to expect at your visit
Consultation. Dr. Boican reviews your health history and goals, and looks at your face as a whole, not just one feature.
Planning. She maps where volume was lost and where the important blood vessels run, so each injection avoids them.
Treatment. Most fillers contain lidocaine, a numbing medicine, for comfort. Treatment takes about 30 to 60 minutes.
Follow-up. We check your result at about two weeks and make small refinements if needed.
Pricing
HA filler is priced at $700 per syringe, and many patients need 1 to 2 syringes per area. Radiesse® is priced at $750 per syringe. You will receive a clear plan and price before treatment.
Why choose Dr. Boican for fillers
Filler safety depends on a deep understanding of facial anatomy. Every filler plan at SculptMaxx MD is mapped against the facial blood vessels and nerves, and the practice keeps the dissolving enzyme and emergency protocols on hand at every visit.
Your treatment is performed by a physician, not delegated. At SculptMaxx MD, Dr. Alice Boican personally evaluates every patient and performs every treatment. She is a board-certified internal medicine physician (American Board of Internal Medicine), licensed in Florida, and completed her residency at HCA Florida Sarasota Doctors Hospital. She also practices hospital medicine, caring for patients whose health depends on careful judgment and precise dosing.
What that means for you:
A medical history that is actually read and understood. Medications, conditions and past reactions are reviewed before any treatment, the way a physician would in any other setting.
Safety first, every visit. Each injection plan is mapped against your facial anatomy, including facial blood vessels and nerves before a single needle is used.
Genuine, traceable products. Treatments use products from authorized distributors, with lot numbers recorded in your chart.
Natural, conservative results. The goal is to look like yourself on a good day. Dr. Boican would rather add a little at a follow-up than overdo it.
Whole-person care. As an internist, Dr. Boican looks at how skin, weight, hormones and energy connect, not just one concern in isolation.
Local and personal. SculptMaxx MD is a physician-owned practice at 1058 N Tamiami Trail, Suite 122, Sarasota, FL 34236. You see the same doctor at every visit.
Advanced aesthetic training. Dr. Boican has completed specialized training in botulinum toxin and dermal filler injection (Aesthetic Medical Educators Training, Inc.), Dermapen 4™ microneedling (DP Derm), and Sculptra® & Radiesse® (Empire Medical Training).
Filler FAQs
Will it look natural?
Yes, when the right product is placed in the right amount. Dr. Boican favors a gradual approach you can build on.
Does it hurt?
Most patients feel pressure and brief pinches. Numbing medicine in the filler makes it comfortable.
How long does it last?
Typically 6 to 18 months, depending on the product, the area and your metabolism. Lips tend to fade sooner than cheeks or chin.
What are the risks?
Swelling, bruising and tenderness are common and short-lived. Rarely, filler can block a blood vessel. That is why careful anatomy-based planning and the ability to act immediately matter.
Can fillers be reversed?
Hyaluronic acid fillers can be dissolved with an enzyme called hyaluronidase.
